Terms of service

This is not written so that you skip it. These are the rules of the service, in the same language we use everywhere else.

What we do

Certeza Health guides nurses trained outside the United States through the process of obtaining a state license to practise there. We prepare and file your paperwork, pay the bodies involved, tell you which step you are on and answer when something gets stuck.

What we are not

We do not issue licenses. The state board of nursing issues them, decides on its own criteria and may ask for whatever it considers necessary. We prepare the file and answer what they ask, but the decision is not ours and we cannot speed it up.

We are not a law firm and we do not give legal or immigration advice. This service ends at your license. It does not include a visa, it does not include a work permit and it does not include finding you a job in the United States.

We are not the agency that evaluates your credentials nor the company that runs the exam. Those are independent bodies with their own rules, their own timelines and their own forms, which sometimes change without notice.

The diagnosis

The diagnosis costs $75 and is paid once. What you are buying is an answer about your specific case: whether your degree passes, which state fits it, what you will be missing and how long it would take. The answer may be no, and if it is we give it to you in writing and with the reason.

The work of the diagnosis is the review itself, so it is charged just the same when the answer is no — which is precisely why we are able to say no. If the answer is yes and you decide to go ahead, the $75 comes off the first payment of the program.

The program and how it is paid

The full program costs $4,000, all-inclusive. What the credential evaluation, the state board and the exam charge comes out of that price and not on top of it. If the process requires a step that was not foreseen, we pay for it within that same price.

There is one exception and it is named before you sign: if your evaluation returns an academic deficiency, the bridging courses that fix it are taught by a university and are not part of this price. When that shows up in the diagnosis we tell you there, not later.

You pay an amount upfront when the case opens and the rest in six monthly installments with no interest. The exact amounts, with their dates, reach you in writing before you sign and stay visible inside your account from day one.

What depends on you

Of the seven steps in the process, two are yours: gathering the documents your university has to issue and passing the NCLEX. We tell you exactly what to ask for and from whom, we prepare you and we warn you of every deadline, but you are the one who sits the exam.

The information and documents you give us have to be true and yours. A board that detects an altered document does not just reject a filing: it closes the door to that state for years. If we find that something is not authentic, we close the case and report it where required.

Timelines are estimates

The times we publish are typical durations, not commitments. A board that asks for an extra document, a university that is slow to issue a certificate or an exam passed on the second attempt all move the count. When that happens you see it in your account the same day, with the new date.

If you fall behind on a payment

We warn you five days before the due date, on the due date and three days after it. You have five days from the due date. After those five days the account is suspended and the process stops: we advance no step and pay no third party until the instalment is paid. This is not a penalty: the payments to Trumerit, the board and Pearson are fronted by us months before the instalment is collected, and we cannot carry them on an unpaid instalment.

What is suspended is the service, never what is yours. While the account is suspended the app opens a single screen, the payment one, because that is where the matter gets sorted out. The documents screen being closed does not mean we are holding anything: we delete no paper, what you uploaded is still yours, and if you ask for a copy meanwhile we send it. Nor are you left without a way to reach us: the app is suspended, never the WhatsApp. The moment the payment lands, everything reactivates the same day.

If you know you will not be able to pay an instalment, write to us before the due date: moving a date is something we can discuss. At thirty days late we call you, because by then there is something to talk about and not a message to send.

If you decide to stop

You can stop the process whenever you want by telling us in writing. Your documents are yours: we hand them over and tell you what state each filing was left in, so that you can pick it up on your own or with whoever you choose.

Whatever has already been paid to an outside body — evaluation, board, exam — does not come back, because it left our hands the day it was paid. What happens with the remaining balance depends on how far your case got and is set out in the contract you sign when it opens.

Changes to these terms

If they change, the date above changes too and we tell you through the channels we already use. What you signed is governed by what you signed: a change published today does not alter a case opened yesterday.

Contact and governing law

Legal entity, contact address and governing law: PENDING confirmation before publication. In the meantime, any question about these terms is answered through the same channel we already use with you.
